When installing an anticollision light, it is essential to install a switch independent of the position light switch. This requirement ensures that the anticollision lights can be activated separately, allowing the pilot to use them when necessary without being reliant on other lighting systems. The independent switch facilitates operational flexibility and enhances safety, especially in situations where visibility is critical, such as during takeoff or landing.

Having a dedicated switch also allows for better management of the aircraft's lighting systems, enabling the operator to activate the anticollision lights in conjunction with or independent from other lights, depending on the situation. Overall, this design consideration prioritizes the functionality and safety of various aircraft operations.
